The paint, which appears milky at first, dries to a transparent, crystal-clear, and glossy finish . The various colors can be combined beautifully and thinned to any consistency using the Kreul Glass & Porcelain “Color Thinner.” The surface must be clean, grease-free, and smooth. This allows you to create completely individual watercolor effects and one-of-a-kind items.
This allows you to create beautiful and long-lasting effects on heat-resistant items made of porcelain, glass, ceramics, terracotta, or metal . The glass and porcelain paint is applied with a hair brush of any thickness and then left to dry flat for about four hours. To ensure the artwork is long-lasting, the design must be fired at approximately 160 °C for about 90 minutes . It is important to place the item in a cold oven! The firing time does not begin until the oven reaches the required temperature. Afterward, the item must cool down inside the oven so that the firing process is completed properly and the paint becomes waterproof, dishwasher-safe, and saliva-resistant .
Important! Surfaces that come into contact with food must not be painted, as the paint is not food-safe. Therefore, working surfaces, eating areas, rims of drinking vessels, or the interior surfaces of glasses and cups, as well as the cut edges of plates, should be left unpainted.
However, the KREUL Glass & Porcelain “Clear” paint is also suitable for temporary use; as long as the paint has not been fired, the design can be easily removed with water. This allows you to create temporary designs on acrylic glass, mirrors, and many plastics that look just like real colored glass.
